Hats off to you clever, energetic parents.
We see your Elf on the Shelf handiwork on social media, and it’s so darn elaborate, it hurts.
Meanwhile, some parents aren’t as industrious, and it hasn’t escaped the notice of people like Penn Charles, the son of hilarious viral video team Penn and Kim Holderness. He asks of his elf:
“He’s been here for a week and hasn’t moved once. What’s the deal with this?”
The creators of the Holderness Family music videos answer with a song, and parents strung out from the holiday bustle everywhere will relate.
Penn Holderness tells his son in a song:
“Oh, you say our elf is lazy because he just stays here. Meanwhile, all of your best friends elves are swinging from chandeliers. Yeah, you say our elf is lazy. That’s not true! He’s just doing the best he can just like me and you!”
Some elves recreated a Drake video or wrapped an entire bathroom in festive paper for kids to find, the song points out.
“Thanks other elves, you make our elf look absolutely terrible,” Penn Holderness sang.
At the end of the video, mom Kim Holderness interviewed her son, who said that in two weeks, their elf moved about a foot across the kitchen counter.
She suggested maybe he was just “cozy” in their house.
Yeah. Let’s go with that.
